Dr. Akinyemi Akanni Ibukun
Akinyemi Akanni Ibukun has been actively involved in policy and developmental issues in Nigeria since 1998. He is currently a Senior faculty member with the Department of Demography and Social Statistics of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria. He worked with Centre for Gender and Social Policy Issue in Nigeria from 1998 to 2001.
He has also worked with other organizations either on short time basis or fixed basis, including Family Health International (FHI); Centre for Research Evaluation and Resources Development (CRERD; Centre for Development and Community Management (CEDCOM); PATH-DFID International; Measure Evaluation, Tulane University projects in Nigeria; Network of Migration Research in Africa (NOMRA); and African Migration Alliance (AMA).
He studied at Obafemi Awolowo University for his B.Sc and MSc in Demography and also had his Ph.D in Demography and Social Statistics from same University. He is a recipient of many awards and scholarships.
He has undergone a number of professional trainings – Analysis of DHS Dataset, weighting procedures and data presentation with DHS Macro International, Calverton, USA; Analysis of large Dataset using STATA – John’s Hopkins School of Public Health, International Institute of Population Aging, Training on the Demographic aspect of Population Aging. Msida, Malta among others.
Akinyemi is well experienced in Data collection, data management, analysis and report writing, and has contributed to many scholarly articles.
